Background

Dr Uche Aniagwu MBBS MSc BSc (known as “the cosmetic eye doctor”) is a revolutionary under-eye rejuvenation practitioner. He is the founder of The Cosmetic Eye Clinic and clinical lead of the Under Eye Masterclass Training Programme. Under the tutorage and mentorship of Dr Uche, Wendy has been able to bring this ground-breaking methodology to Staffordshire, one which puts a patients unique needs into the forefront of delivering an appropriate treatment plan.

"Polynucleotides are an innovatiove treatment we are delighted to bring to you that provides deep renewal of the eye area at a cellular level."

What is the theory?

Patient complaints in the eye area fall into the following four categories: bags, sunken grooves, loose skin or dark circles. Typically, however, attempts to address this place too little emphasis on the complete assessment of the eye and mid cheek leaving the patient unsatisfied with the result. As our faces age, the frontal cheek volume recedes. This can negatively emphasise under eye concerns. This is known as negative vector, and can make eye bags more pronounced.

What are vectors?

Wendy’s clinical assessment of your vectors is key to your treatment plan.  Vectors refer to the  frontal cheek projection in relation to the corneal line (the perpendicular line that sits in front of the cornea).  Infraorbital fat very often begins to prolapse and sit forward relative to the cheeks, exaggerating what we commonly refer to as “eye bags”.

Your Unique Treatment Plan

A new approach to rejuvenating the complete eye area, this involves an initial assessment by Wendy of your complete eye and mid cheek in order to create a plan to rejuvenate that area. Your individual assessment will consider many aspects such as patient's history, hyper pigmentation, skin laxity, infraorbital fat and cheek volume, and generate a plan to address your needs and offer the best possible solution.

Your treatment plan will include a combination of, but not necessarily all the following

  • Polynucleotides help decrease lower eyelid puffiness, fine lines, wrinkles and volume loss.  It is able to activate processes of bio-regeneration in the skin both at a deep level (adipose and bone tissue), and in the dermis (fibroblast stimulation).

  • Redensity 2 (for Tear Trough) Considered the best filler for tear troughs and dark circles Rednesity 2 is renowned for delivering immediate and long-lasting results. It is a unique mix of non-crosslinked and crosslinked hyaluronic acid, designed to treat the eye area and cause minimal side effects and irritation.

  • Mid Cheek Filler Cheek rejuvenation/ contour helping to lift, anchor and define the mid face/vector in order to improve the overall aesthetic result.

Everybody is talking about Polynucleotides - so what are they?

Polynucleotides (a popular brand being Nucleofill) are a product for deep renewal and bio-restructure of the skin. This innovative treatment works on three levels: lifting, antioxidation and hydration

The treatment offers a unique, triple action at the cellular level, which gives the effect of visible and long-lasting rejuvenation.

This scientifically proven method of skin biostimulation stimulates the skin to rebuild in a three-way mechanism.

The first course of action is stimulation of the receptors on fibroblasts in the skin. Due to such stimulation, they transform into myofibroblasts. The process of the production of type I collagen and elastin is stimulated, which causes the skin to thicken and lift. The second mechanism is the removal of free radicals and antioxidant activity. Polynucleotides bind water and ensure long-term iso-osmotic hydration of the extracellular matrix, as a result, the skin becomes moisturized and firm.

What are the results?

The skin will be introduced to the biostimulation process. It will start to regenerate, thicken and firm. Additional antioxidant and moisturizing effects will help to notice a visible rejuvenation of the skin, which at the same time becomes radiant, the symptoms of oxidative stress disappear. The skin tone will improve and fine wrinkles will vanish. The effect will be exactly what is expected – visible but natural.

Things to consider

Following an initial assessment at our modern clinic, you can expect a plan involving 2-3 treatments, 2 weeks apart. In most cases, you might consider social downtime of 24 hours after treatment, although Wendy will advise you better based on your treatment plan. There is little discomfort with the treatment but, as with all injections, there is the potential for swelling or bruising.

What is the cost of treatment?

For Polynucleotides alone the cost of one treatment is £200 but a course of 4 treatments is the gold standard for optimal rejuvenation results at £800. Your personalised plan may include a combination of treatments.
